What Kids Learn at Youth Fish Camp

This isn’t a sit-and-watch camp. Kids are hands-on all week long. Real Fishing Skills
Daily boat trips target local species like redfish, trout, flounder, sheepshead, and more. Campers learn how to cast, hook, fight, and safely release fish.

Boating Safety & Confidence
From the first day, we cover how to move around the boat, listen to the captain’s instructions, and handle gear safely so kids feel confident on the water, not nervous.

Bait, Knots & Tackle
Campers get comfortable throwing cast nets, catching bait, and understanding the difference between live bait and artificial lures. They’ll practice tying simple fishing knots and rigging rods like real anglers.

Lowcountry Marine Life & Conservation
We talk about the fish, birds, and wildlife that call Charleston’s creeks and harbor home, and why protecting our coastal habitat is so important. Kids learn how catch-and-release helps keep our fisheries healthy.

Teamwork, Independence & Resilience
Being on a boat together builds patience, problem-solving, and teamwork. Kids learn to try, miss, adjust, and try again—on the water instead of on a screen.

"With a passion as vast as the ocean, our dedicated team is united by a shared purpose. We are committed to creating meaningful experiences that empower children to embrace their full potential, recognize their ability to make an impact, and confidently navigate the world beyond the water"
